The project
The goal of the project was was to find the surface area of Mars and Earth. The shape of the planets were simplify, by doing this it’s easier for me to find out the surface area.
Data
The diameter of my model Earth is 4 centimeters and the diameter of my model Mars is 2 centimeters wide.
The surface area of Earth if 96 square centimeter and the surface area for Mars is 24 square centimeters.
Analysis
Earth’s diameter is 2 times bigger than Mars.
Earth’s surface area is also about 2 times bigger than Mars.
Claim
If a planet has twice the diameter, then the planet should also have twice the surface area.
Applying what you learned
If Moon’s diameter is 4 times bigger than moon then Moon’s diameter should be one, and the surface area should be 4 square centimeters.
